**Beware**

There are several scams trying to defraud people out of money and vehicles. We have received complaints that these fraudsters are using Bid4it as a way of contacting sellers. They seem to be using Yahoo emails. Often they offer more for your vehicle that the advertised sale price. One of the scams is known as the West African advance fee or 419, the fraud involves a buyer from abroad posing as an international dealer who wants to buy a vehicle.

The Metropolitan Police suggest that if you receive such a contact you forwarding a copy of the email to the Internet Service Provider of the persons email address supplied to you. For example:- abuse@hotmail.com or abuse@yahoo.com

bid4it

How it works.

Look for the adverts with the "bid4it" icon. Click on the button and you can indicate to the seller how much you are willing to pay for the vehicle.

Once you have entered the amount you wish to "bid4it" - together with your contact details - click the submit button. You will then receive a "Thank You" message to confirm that the seller has been sent your details.

Please Note:

1. If your bid is too low it will probably be rejected by the seller. The seller is not obliged to accept your bid. The seller may or may not advise you if your bid has failed although we would hope, out of courtesy, that he or she would let you know.

2. If your bid is sucessful the seller will advise you by using the contact details you have provided, please ensure you enter the correct details.

3. Cardata is not made aware of the bids made or whether they have failed. The sale of any vehicle is negotiated between the buyer and the seller.

4. Cardata is not responsible for bids placed whether successful or unsuccessful.
